Sleep Disorders

Sleep disorders are securing more importance in society day by day. It has been found that around 60-80 million of the total population of the United States experience sleep or wakefulness disorder. Even though there is no evidence which indicates that sleep disorders are a cause of psychiatric disorders but sleep and psychiatric disorders such as depression and schizophrenia are closely related to each other. In addition, people with psychiatric disorders have other sleep problems, including sleepiness during the day, nightmares, and fatigue. It is particularly common in patients with depressionanxietybipolar disorder, and ADHD. Neuroimaging and neurochemistry studies suggest that a good night's sleep helps stimulate both mental and emotional resilience.
